ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The New Mexico State Fair is gearing up for it's first full weekend and that means security will be a top concern for law enforcement.
State Police say their patrols will be out conducting business as usual and they'll be using officers from around the entire state to help out.
Even with the span of the fair being shortened by a few days, police say that won't stop their efforts to keep an eye out for anyone wanting to cause trouble.
State Police tell News 13 that they brought in about 30 officers from around the state to man the annual fair. They will work about 8 to 10 hour days while the fair is going on. Albuquerque Police will also be out patrolling the Fairgrounds, but mainly on the perimeter outside.
Another safety reminder for parents taking children to the fair, don't forget the Tag Your Tots Program. This is where they can get a free identification bracelet from the NM State Police Mobile Command Van just west of Main Street. The program is free.
Make sure to grab a jacket as well because it will be a lot cooler the next couple of days.
