Space dust shoots across NM sky

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A unusual and downright mysterious sight in the sky got a lot of attention from people around New Mexico.
Many viewers called and emailed KRQE News 13 this weekend about a bright light shooting across the west mesa.
A local expert says it appears to be a small piece of space dust that entered the atmosphere above New Mexico and then shot across toward the Arizona border.
He caught the image on a camera he has on loan from Sandia Labs.
He says the event only happens a few times a year.
