Public input wanted on APD investigation

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The U.S. Department of Justice will be holding a public input forum on Monday night to release the latest findings of it's investigation into use of force by Albuquerque Police. They will also be asking for input from attendees who have either witnessed or been part of an incident with APD where behavior may have been questionable.

The investigation has been going on now since November. Albuquerque Police Chief Ray Schultz says the department has made a conscientious effort to change policy and implement another set of eyes to monitor officers such as lapel cameras.

Meanwhile, the Department of Justice plans says it's important to educate the public on the scope of their investigation and what it has uncovered.

Monday night's meeting will be at the Cesar Chavez Community Center, off of Louisiana and Kathryn in Southeast Albuquerque from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
