ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The new postmaster in Farmington is the first American Indian to hold the post in the post office's 134 year history in the city.
The Farmington Daily Times reports 37-year-old Steve Begay is also the youngest person to hold the position in Farmington.
Begay is originally from Shiprock and is a member of the Navajo tribe.
He began working for the postal service in 1999 after serving in the Marine Corps.
