ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A man was rushed to the hospital after being struck by a car Sunday morning.

Police say alcohol may be to blame but not for the driver.

Just after 4 a.m. Sunday officers were called out to Lomas just east of University.

Police on scene say a man stepped out in front of traffic.

The driver of a car was not able to stop in time and struck the man.

Police are looking into if the pedestrian had been drinking.

The pedestrian was rushed to a local hospital said to be in critical condition.
