ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The New Mexico golden retriever, whose friendly disposition and wagging tail spurred a national program to help kids , has died.
Kasey, the namesake of the program Kasey Says , was diagnosed with lymphoma a week ago and had to be put down.
The program, started by the Sandoval County sheriff's department in 2000, brings golden retrievers into classrooms.
The goal is to teach kids about drugs and the importance of graduating.
