ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - As of Monday morning, the American Automobile Association shows the price of gas to be on a downward spiral within the last few weeks. Nationally, those averages are $3.43 a gallon.

This is really good news for anyone wanting to gas up in Albuquerque before heading out of town because AAA New Mexico is showing some gas stations to be selling the fuel at fifteen to twenty cents cheaper, that's about $3.20 to $3.25 a gallon.

If you take to the road this week, you won't be alone. AAA also estimates that about 39.1 million people plan to travel by car this Thanksgiving. That number is up over last year's averages.
