ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A gas leak early Monday morning prompted evacuations in northwest Albuquerque.

The Albuquerque Fire Department and the Albuquerque Police Department responded to a call about a gas leak on the 6,000 block of Coors just before 9 a.m. Monday.

Six homes were evacuated as a precaution.

”AFD and APD had to evacuate six homes in the area, just for safety reasons,” Melissa Romero said.

Officials say PNM is on scene, capping the line.

So far, no injuries or complaints have been reported.

No word yet on what exactly caused the leak, but authorities say construction is being done in the area.
