NM attorney's hold free foreclosure clinic

Homeowners can get free legal advice

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Homeowners who have received notices or summons that their homes are in foreclosure can meet with local attorneys for free advice in a Foreclosure Clinic.

The clinic is taking place on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bernalillo County District Court building in the 3rd floor conference room.

The attorneys hold the clinic on the first Wednesday of every month for homeowners who are currently in these situations.

Their best recommendation for anyone coming to the clinic for advice is to bring all the proper paper work with them. This includes any of the notices or summons or any mortgage paperwork.

The attorneys say they can point the homeowners in the right direction of how they may be able to still save their homes. They also say that if the homeowner comes forward now for help, it's more likely that the banks will want to work with them to save the home from going into foreclosure.
