ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Help is pouring in from across the country for an Albuquerque firefighter battling a brain tumor .
Vincent Cordova last month suffered from a brain tumor the size of two golf balls that was squeezing his jugular vein.
Still he vowed to continue working as a firefighter as long as he could.
”Right now my biggest thing is prayer,” Cordova said. “Prayer is the most important thing to get me through everything.”
Some of Cordova’s fellow firefighters won t$10,000 in the Mega Millions lottery.
Their decision to share some of that money with Cordova drew national attention, which then brought on hundreds of donations from across the country.
Cordova underwent surgery on Wednesday.
The president of the local firefighters union told CNN that Cordova made it through surgery successfully and is now starting to communicate by whispering.
