ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Fire ravaged an Albuquerque business Sunday morning as flames got extremely close to nearby homes.
Albuquerque fire crews were called out to the 1st Street and Haines were a fire started in a pile of rubble then spread to a storage shed at Lewis Brake and Clutch inc.
The fire then spread to a nearby backyard.
Firefighters say they had a difficult time attacking the flames.
It took them 40 minutes to get the fire under control.
“The challenge with this fire primarily was access to it,” Capt. Jackie White said. “It’s a very confined lot…and there are chain link fences and buildings quite close."
The fire is under investigation.
No one was inside the business the fire spread to.
However, one family says it could have been much worse if not for a good samaritan.
What they say he did to save their holidays from going up in flames at ten.
