CLOVIS, N.M. (KRQE) - Clovis police are investigating a fatal crash between a truck and a pedestrian.
The incident happened around four Wednesday morning on the 2400 block of East Mabry Drive.
Police say 56-year-old Steve Plyler of Clovis was hit by the SUV and found dead on scene.
The driver was uninjured.
Officers had already been dispatched to the area by a truck driver who said he had just dodged a man jumping into traffic.
Police had given Plyler a ride to a motel earlier after he had been drinking.
Investigators believe alcohol was likely a factor on Plyler's part, but say its unknown why he was walking in traffic.
