Police say boy and girl found safe

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The search is over for two kids who were reported missing Sunday.

Both have been found safe.

An 11-year-old boy, Dennis Pelier, was found with his aunt.

Apparently there was a miscommunication between the adults about where he was going to be.

Police have also found missing 12-year-old Valoree Davis, who went for a walk Sunday near downtown and did not come back.

Valoree was last seen near Mountain and Forrester at around 2:30 Sunday afternoon.

She lives in that neighborhood.

Around 11:15 a.m. Monday, police got word that Valoree was spotted in the area of 12th and Mountain.

The girl told officers that she got lost Sunday night and once it got dark she got disoriented and ended up walking to the Walmart on Coors near I-40.

She says once the sun came up she figured out where she was and walked back home.

Police are still talking with the family to make sure the girl is okay.

While Valoree's disappearance did not meet the requirements of an amber alert, police were able to make calls to everyone in the neighborhood and let them know she was missing.
