ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for central Bernalillo County active until 4:30 p.m.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m. radar indicated heavy rain falling in the Sandia Mountains foothills and Albuquerque's North Valley. As the storms move street flooding is expected although arroyos, flood-control channels and low-water crossings are expected to fill and become dangerous with fast-flowing water.

Rainfall totals of up to an inch in an hour are possible, according to the weather service.
