ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The state's supercomputer may be split up among New Mexico’s three research universities.

The Richardson administration bought the big computer for $11 million in 2008.

They hoped it would attract business, but three-years later KRQE News 13 investigative Larry Barker uncovered it wasn't doing the job it was intended to do.

The machine is made up of 28 racks of processors.

UNM wants 10, New Mexico State wants four and New Mexico Tech two.
