SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - The New Mexico Public Education Commission is set to decide the fate of 14 new possible charter schools.
The commission is scheduled to meet Wednesday in Santa Fe for two days of hearings. At the meeting, applicants will have 15 minutes to make presentations and commissioners will pose questions about the possible future schools.
Commissioners then will vote to approve or deny the applications for new charter schools.
The PEC became an official state authorizer for charter schools in 2007.
