ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A wrong-way driver is facing a DWI charge after a four-vehicle crash that shutdown part of Paseo del Norte Friday night.

Bernalillo County sheriff's deputies said Pedro Tarín got onto Paseo del Norte from Second Street NW headed east in the westbound lanes shortly after 9 p.m.

He hadn't gone far when he crashed head-on into one vehicle with two more vehicles becoming embroiled in the collision.

Tarín, 33, and a second person were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to deputies.

The eastbound lanes were closed for about two hours due to spilled oil that required a state Department of Transportation crew to clean up.
