ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A Christmas Day Walmart heist was an inside job and Monday police announced they have solved the burglary making four arrests and recovering all the stolen guns.
Los Lunas police say the ringleader, Emilio Larsen, 23, knew everything about security at Walmart from working at two of the stores in Albuquerque in their security departments.
Police identified Larsen and two juveniles in surveillance video breaking into Walmart on Christmas day taking more than $30,000 in merchandise including five rifles and a shot-gun.
Police say Gary Wilson and another minor waited outside of the store to keep an eye out for police. Wilson's truck was the getaway car and after the heist, the five split up the loot.
Larsen was arrested Saturday at his Albuquerque home where police say they found some of the stolen merchandise and recovered the guns after searching one of the juvenile's Albuquerque home.
Chief Roy Melnick of the Los Lunas Police Department says they recovered gameboys, gameboxes and cell phones but says a majority of the property has been disposed of or hidden at other locations and are still collecting more stolen merchandise.
Larsen and Wilson face several charges including aggravated burglary; police are anticipate arresting Wilson by the end of the day.
The case has been turned over to ATF and the two could face federal charges because guns were stolen.
The three juveniles will face charges in juvenile court.
Police say Larsen also had several thousand dollars worth of suspected stolen property they believe was taken from other burglaries at homes and businesses in the metro area. That evidence has been turned over to the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department.
