ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - An APS employee is taking the law into her own hands after her wallet was stolen and has found a unique way to catch the crook that ripped her off.
Late last month a Volcano Vista High school employee reported her wallet had been stolen out of her office.
Police found out the woman's credit card had been used at a Walmart in Rio Rancho several times and they had surveillance video.
The victim got a photo from the surveillance video and posted it on her Facebook wall.
A friend responded saying she knew the woman in the picture, Victoria Vigil, because they went to high school together in Espanola.
Vigil was then arrested and charged with identity theft.
She was in court this weekend and apparently she had not just committed crimes in New Mexico.
“We found a criminal history in Utah and New Mexico, five misdemeanor arrests, two convictions,” a judge said.
Vigil is still in jail on a $10,000 cash or surety bond.
