LOS LUNAS, N.M. (KRQE) - There will be no plea deal for two suspects in the Valencia High School hazing case, at least not now.

Jeremiah Carroll and Jake Sanchez are accused of sodomizing a fellow football player at Valencia in the fall of 2010 when they were 17 years old.

They are charged as adults with rape, criminal sexual contact and kidnapping.

Prosecutors say they offered the two a deal that would allow them to plead guilty to aggravated battery and in exchange be sentenced as juveniles.

That means they would only be locked up for about two years.

At a hearing Wednesday the two did not take the deal, and District Court Judge George Eichwald set a trial date for Nov. 27.

A third suspect, Curtis Peralta, did plead guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He is scheduled to testify against Carroll and Sanchez.
