ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Two brothers suspected in a string of burglaries in some small mountain towns are in custody after a chase in Torrance County.

It ended in the salt flats southwest of estancia.

The Torrance County sheriff says they tried to serve search warrants on Dale and Brandon Hinds two men near Manzano.

They took off and led them on a chase through highway 55 and on back roads reaching speeds of 90 miles per hour.

The sheriff says they kept flashing their guns at deputies and running people off the road. They say when the pair came to the salt flats about 45 minutes later, their truck bottomed out, Then they took off on foot but didn't get far.

The sheriff says they left plenty of evidence behind.

”In the vehicle were multiple stolen items reference several burglaries in the area they were also throwing items out of vehicle when we were behind them so we have a large amount of stolen items throughout county trying to retrieve and get deputies to,” Sheriff Heath White said.

The sheriff says the hinds were suspected in at least six burglaries in Manzano and Mountainair, but the stolen property in the truck links them to even more.

Deputies are still looking for two other suspects.
