ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A former Albuquerque Public Schools teacher pleaded guilty Friday to multiple crimes related to sexual encounters with a student.
Kristy Sanchez Trujillo faced a maximum of 24 years in prison, but under a plea deal with serve no more than five years and then register as a sex offender.
She was a teacher at Jimmy Carter Middle School when she was arrested in 2009 and accused of crimes involving a seventh grade boy in her class. APS fired her shortly after her arrest.
Trujillo pleaded guilty to criminal sexual penetration and two counts each of criminal sexual contact and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
She'll be sentenced on June 29.
