ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - It turns out a man who fired at police and barricaded himself inside his home for hours Wednesday was wanted for a 2007 murder.

Christopher Blattner, 32, is accused of killing George Orozco, 36, and dumping his body near Route 66 Casino.

While Blattner was charged with Orozco's murder four years ago, the charges were later dropped.

A grand jury reindicted him last week.

When police tried to arrest Blattner he barricaded himself inside his home near Mountain Road and Madeira Drive NE.

Today he pleaded not guilty to murder, and a judge set his cash-only bond at $100,000.

Police say Blattner is also a suspect in a recent missing-person case.
