ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Two suspects have been identified in a car chase that ended with a deputy crashing into another car.

On Monday undercover narcotics detectives say they watched a drug deal go down at the Lotaburger on Indian School near 17th Street.

When they tried to arrest 21-year-old Miguel Chavez and 30-year-old Mary Gonzales the pair sped off – prompting a chase.

They then ditched the car they were riding in and ran into a home near 2nd Street and Montano, where they were arrested.

Chavez and Gonzales are now charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer amongst other things.

Both are still in jail and the investigation is ongoing.
