ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A man on his was to jail for trafficking drugs tried to hide more of the evidence in the deputies' car.

Raymond Rodarte, 31, was in court Sunday, charged with having a controlled substance and drug trafficking.

Bernalillo County deputies were conducting a traffic stop on 4th Street in northwest Albuquerque on Friday when they pulled Rodarte over for expired tags.

Deputies say they found drug paraphernalia in his car and Rodarte reeked of marijuana.

While driving Rodarte to jail, deputies say he complained of his genitals hurting and when asked why he said it was because of the pot.

After officials found nothing during a strip search, the deputy searched his car that still smelled strongly of weed.

The deputy then found a bag of weed, heroin and cocaine on the floor of his patrol car.

That was turned in as evidence.
