ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) - Roswell police are on the hunt for a killer, that they say could still be armed and is very dangerous.

Police are looking for 48-year-old Johnny Barela.

Authorities believe he is the one who stabbed and killed 45-year-old Gregory Alonzo Monday evening on East Ballard.

Police will not say what the motive is in this case or the connection between the two men, but they're very confident Barela is responsible.

“At this time its not believed that any other person is involved but detectives and other officers did speak with numerous people,” Sabrina Morales with the Roswell Police Department said.

Barela is five foot six about 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Investigators say right now they don't know if the killing is drug or gang related.
