BENT, N.M. (KRQE) - What started as a domestic violence call ended in an officer involved shooting in southern New Mexico.
The incident occurred around 9 p.m. Tuesday in Bent, New Mexico.
State police say Tad Wood, 44, rammed a woman's car from behind, then broke into her house, took a gun and took off.
She called the Otero County deputies, who caught up with Wood at a church.
Police say he then rammed a sheriff's cruiser and Sergeant Geraldine Martinez fired a rifle at him.
Wood was taken into custody and is now at the University Medical Center in El Paso, Texas.
No word on his condition.
