CARLSBAD, N.M. (KRQE) - Carlsbad police are investigating the murder and dismembering of an 88-year-old man.

Police say they were called on Friday by Thomas Allumbaugh's grandson saying he was worried because he hadn't heard from him in a while.

Investigators later received a tip that Allumbaugh was dead and buried in the backyard of a home on Canal Street.

With the help of a cadaver dog investigators were able to find portions of the body buried separately.

Police say they have several person's of interest in the case but no arrests.
