ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Authorities have identified the body found in the basement of an historic Taos hospital and convent that burnt down earlier this month.

Police say they found the body of Christian Payton, 39, in the basement of the Holy Cross Hospital.

Investigators believe someone set fire to the historic building earlier this month.

A week after getting a tip that a missing person might be inside that building, Payton’s body was found.

Police are waiting on an autopsy to determine exactly how Payton died.
