SANTA FE (KRQE) - A woman crossing a busy street was hit and killed in Santa Fe Friday night.

A little before midnight Santa Fe police responded to a call about a woman hit by a car near Cerrillos and Siler roads.

Witnesses say the 42-year-old woman, later identified as Annette Chavez, 42, of Santo Domingo Pueblo, crossed the street in front of a car travelling northbound on Cerrillos.

The investigation is still ongoing, but police on Saturday said the driver did not appear to be at fault.
