ARTESIA, N.M. (KRQE) - An oil field worker who killed another is in trouble again, this time for carrying a gun.

William Sherman was convicted of the 2005 murder of Pedro Aguilar, 40, at the Artesia oil field where they both worked.

He was sentenced to six years in prison and paroled in 2010.

He did OK for a while, but then in July he was caught with a gun.

Now, like the fed have with many other violent criminals, Sherman faces a federal charge for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

If convicted, that crime carries a possible sentence of 15 years.
