NMSP text message alerts available

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Residents can now get text alerts from state police by signing up.
    
State police are now using the Nixle Mass Communication System, which enables them to send texts to the public about things like road closures, evacuations and severe weather conditions.
    
Residents can go to Nixle.com to sign up, people will just need to provide your cell phone number and zip code.
