ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A man accused of murdering another man last month is now charged with a second murder.
Police say Jesus Suarez shot Michael Garris , 38 near 98th Street and Sage Road SW on Feb. 25.
He was arrested over the weekend, and now police say evidence links him to a home-invasion murder that happened the same day near 12th Street NW and Menaul Boulevard.
"The person who was shot by the apartment was the same person involved in the incident across the street at the merry go round, the same person based on tattoos showing affiliation of some sort of prison gang activity," Albuquerque Police Department Chief ray Schultz said.
The victim in the second case, Robert Kinter, 43, was with his girlfriend at the time.
After he was shot and killed the shooter took a lockbox from the home.
A second suspect was involved in the shooting, but police have not found him yet.
