ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A mother is behind bars after being accused of letting her underage son get drunk then get behind the wheel.

He ended up crashing their car.

Albuquerque police reported finding Lolita Kellywood, the boy and another son in the wrecked car near Carlisle and Lomas NE.

The boy told them his mother let him take three shots of vodka and then let him driver her and his 15-year-old brother around.

When given a breath test, the boy blew below 0.08, the legal limit for presumed intoxication, but he admitted to also taking some drugs that "helped him mellow out."

The boy was arrested for DWI; mom was also arrested for child abuse.
