Miss Las Cruces resigns after arrest

LAS CRUCES (KRQE) - Miss Las Cruces has resigned after she was arrested last weekend for allegedly driving drunk.
Sarah Richardson, 22, of Alamogordo was crowned last month.
She was arrested late Sunday after crashing her car into a power pole.
Pageant officials issued a statement from Richardson saying she's sorry for letting people down.
Pageant officials named runner-up Taylor Rey as the new Miss Las Cruces.
