ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Cops say two brazen bad boys thought they were tough when they pulled off a robbery against a senior citizen.
Now KRQE News 13 has learned one of their previous antics caused a cross-country investigation.
Julio Salinas and Angelo Dennshinnateano are a pair of troubled friends, cops say.
On Friday the two were arrested after robbing a woman at the “For Your Care Assisted Living Service” a couple weeks ago.
One of the men held a knife to the woman’s neck and threatened to kill her before grabbing her purse and bank deposit bag. The men then took off.
They were later caught on surveillance video at a nearby Home Depot using the woman’s credit card.
Salinas isn’t a stranger to cop or the news. In 2005 he was on KRQE News 13 after federal investigators tracked a UPS package full of pot to Albuquerque. Salinas allegedly was caught waiting to pick the precious cargo up.
Now in addition to snatching the woman’s purse, Salinas is also facing drug charges.
Police say when they arrested Salinas Friday, he had packaged prescription drugs on him and was ready to sell them. Officials say later that day they found heroin on him as well during a strip search.
Both men are currently behind bars.
