ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A man died Monday night after being shot in southwest Albuquerque.

Albuquerque police responded to reports of a man being shot near 98th street and Sage just after 9 p.m. Monday.

When they arrived they were unable to locate a scene or victim.

Although shortly thereafter a woman arrived to the scene of a unrelated APD call on Atrisco Ranch.  The woman told officers and paramedics on scene that there was a man in her car who had been shot.

That man was transported to UNMH where he was pronounced dead.

Officials have not identified the man but say he is approximately 38-years-old.

According to APD, officers concluded that the original shooting scene was at 1105 Cerrillos Road SW.

Officers were unable to interview the woman because they say she was highly intoxicated.  She was booked on unrelated charges and is said to be interviewed at a later time.
