Man injured after shot at NM rest stop

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A man who stopped at a New Mexico rest stop early Monday morning was shot.
    
It happened on Interstate 10 between Deming and Silver City.
 
Sheriff's deputies the man was traveling with a woman and the two pulled over to use the bathroom at about 2 o’clock Monday morning.

When the woman went to the bathroom, the man was approached by three men who tried to rob him, there was a struggle and the man was shot.

The Luna County sheriff's department says the man is from Grant County and was on his was back from Las Cruces but they have not released his name. He was airlifted to an El Paso hospital.
 
Now suspects have been arrested.
 
Investigators are waiting to talk to the victim to learn more. it appears there were not other witnesses.
