Police were alerted after finding a stolen Nissan Sentra crashed and wedged up against a brick wall near Juan Tabo & Constitution.

The suspect’s, McDevitt and Alderete, were both seen running from the car after the crash.

Alderete was found a short time later with the keys to the stolen car in his right front pocket.

Saturday he appeared in court, charged with auto theft and conspiracy.

That is where it was revealed he has a lengthy criminal history.

“Mr. Alderete I am concerned about the welfare and the safety of the community, I am going to impose a bond…I am going to impose a bond of $10,000 cash or surety,” Judge Henry Alaniz said.

Both suspects are still in jail.

According to the criminal complaint, the stolen vehicle belonged to the mother of one of the suspects' friends.
