ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Police say one man who needed a trim, cut a deal of his own at Walmart by stealing hair products.

Michael Avila faced a judge Sunday on commercial burglary charges.

According to a criminal complaint Avila walked into the Walmart on San Mateo Saturday and started pocketing hair products.

Walmart loss prevention officers say he first grabbed barber shears and then took some hair gel.

The total value of the stolen goods was less than $22.

Sunday in court he found out he would need a lot more money to get out of jail.

"I am going to post a bond of $2,500 cash or surety...cannot return to the location of the alleged incident,” Judge Henry aAaniz said.

It turns out Avila wasn't even supposed to be at Walmart because of a previous case that banned him from the store.

Because of that, his shoplifting charge was upgraded to commercial burglary.
