ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Detectives say a man is accused of breaking into an Albuquerque police officer’s home and stole all of his police gear.

Deputies say Billy Espinosa broke into the officer’s home in broad daylight.

Surveillance video from a neighbor is what helped detectives catch.

Espinosa faced a judge Sunday on a slew of charges including aggravated burglary.

Bernalillo County deputies say Espinosa is the man seen in surveillance video sneaking out of the backyard of an APD officers' northwest Albuquerque home last week.

Detectives say the video shows him and two other men loading items into a car.

Items included the officer's duty-issued 9 millimeter gun, bullet magazines, a police baton, handcuffs and even pepper spray.

No word if he even tried to sell the items.

Sunday in court Espinosa found out he will need a lot of money to get out of jail.

“I am going to impose a bond of $25,000 cash or surety,” a judge said.

Detectives say Espinosa also broke into the officer's neighbors' home and stole a gaming system.

According to the criminal complaint, this is the second time someone broke into that officer's home.

In that case, two other firearms were stolen.

No word if Espinosa is believed to be a suspect in that case too.
