ESPAÑOLA, N.M. (KRQE) - An Española man will serve a life sentence for killing his girlfriend's god-daughter.
Nathan Montoya was sentenced in court Thursday.
Montoya killed 17-month old Breandra Peña while he was babysitting her in March 2011 .
He admitted to authorities to picking her up by her ears, squeezing her head, slapping and shaking her.
Marijuana was also found in her system.
