SANTA FE (KRQE) - A jury has found a northern New Mexico man guilty of driving drunk and killing a motorcyclist during the 2011 Memorial Day weekend.

Juan de Dios Córdova was found guilty of one count of vehicular homicide, two counts of aggravated DWI, one count of leaving the scene of a crash and two counts of great bodily injury by vehicle.

It was Memorial Day last year that Córdova drove into oncoming traffic near Chimayó killing Mark Wolfe.

The way the case was handled has been heavily criticized.  Córdova's pickup, a key piece of evidence, was later destroyed in a mistake State Police blamed on the Rio Arriba County Sheriff's Office.
