LOS LUNAS, N.M. (KRQE) - The man, who was shot when he broke into his ex-wife's house last weekend, is a state prison guard.
Alfonso Padilla Junior works at the prison in Los Lunas.
Deputies say he forced his way into his ex's house there Sunday, got into a fight and got shot in the stomach by her new husband's brother.
Padilla's on paid suspension from his job at the prison right now and is currently in the hospital.
When he is released from the hospital he will be headed to jail.
