ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Police are still looking for two gunmen who shot a clerk during a failed attempt to hold up a Family Dollar store in Albuquerque Tuesday afternoon.

The clerk, Odwell Green, 22, was shot in the leg and at last report was in the hospital recovering.

Police say the two suspects wearing hoodies and dark glasses came into the store on Gibson Boulevard SE near San Pedro Drive just before 3 p.m. and pulled guns.

Green, a new employee, fumbled opening the cash drawer, and one of the frustrated robbers shot him, police said. The robbers then fled empty-handed with a search in the neighborhood behind the store failing to find them.

Police have surveillance video of the robbery but are not yet making it public.
