TORRANCE COUNTY (KRQE) -

We're learning more about human remains discovered in Torrance County.

Sunday afternoon hiker found humane remains in the Cibola National forest between Corona and Cedarvale, NM but because of the weather it's taking some time to completely unearth them.

Sheriff Heath White told KRQE News 13 that they were buried in a shallow grave and it's obvious foul play was involved; they're now reviewing missing person's cases.

White says they do have some outstanding cases but because they do not know the age of the gravesite which, could be as old as 10 years, they are in the process of pulling reports; they are also going to outside counties for missing persons cases.

Investigators will have to wait for OMI to determine gender and approximate age to narrow their scope.
