ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Charges including "propulsion of missiles" have been filed against men believed to have spattered vehicles and pedestrians with eggs and paintball pellets early Thursday morning.

Daniel Recovo, Frank Chavez, Anthony Solarez, Elliott Tachias and Gilbert Griego were released without bail after being booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center.

They are charged with criminal damage to property under $1,000 and propulsion of missiles, both misdemeanors.

All are 18 except Griego who is 19, according to MDC records.

It was just before 2 a.m. Thursday when an Albuquerque Police Department officer reported he witnessed a pickup truck run a stop sign and then lose traction while turning a corner.

After stopping the truck in the 4700 block of Zuni Road SE, the officer found two of the men in the cab and three in the truck bed where he also reported finding a paintball gun and half a carton of eggs.

The officer quoted Recovo, who was driving, as saying he and his friends were just out having "a good time." He also admitted they were throwing eggs and shooting paintballs at vehicles and pedestrians, according to the officer.

A short time later another driver arrived at the traffic stop in a pickup truck spattered with eggs and paint. That driver said he'd been at a park when a pickup with about five men in it rolled by and vandalized his vehicle.

About that time a caller to police dispatchers said his pickup truck at been eggs and paintballs.
