ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A man police say escaped from a jail in Grants will be spending more than a decade in federal prison.

Dustin Dean, 35 was sentenced to 15-years in prison Monday on federal firearms charges.

He's now in federal custody
but was in a state lock-up for a slew of other charges.

On April 1 of last year, police say Dean jimmied the lock on his jail cell, crawled up the ceiling of the gym and then dropped into the judge's chambers next door.

He was caught and rearrested a month later.
