ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The man accused of murdering a couple at a park in Old Town is still in jail Wednesday morning, after he tried to convince a judge that he didn't do it, and should just be set free.

Police say Carlos Carrillo shot and killed a 23 year-old man and his 18 year-old girlfriend in their pickup truck at a park early Sunday morning because of drugs.

He was also charged with murder in a gang-related drive-by at a strip club in 2005, he bonded out for $20,000 after getting arrested in that case and he brought that up in court Tuesday.

"I posted bond on that charge and was out for like 10 months and I didn't have no interactions or nothing negative for almost a year now. I'm not a danger to the community,” Carrillo said.

The judge wasn't convinced, he sent Carrillo back to jail on a $2.5 million bond.
