Deputy charged with raping 14-year-old girl

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A Valencia County reserve sheriff's deputy is in trouble with the law Wednesday morning after being accused of raping a teenage girl.
State investigators say it all started when the deputy Austin Wood, 28, responded to a domestic violence call involving her parents.
The girl apparently came forward recently saying that Wood raped her last June when she was 14-years-old.
She claims he dropped by her house as she was drinking and smoking pot with friend then took her to his nearby home in Belen and forced himself on her.
State police say Wood at first denied it but they say he later admitted the two had sex but claimed it was consensual and that he thought the girl was 18-years-old.
